Remnants of Hurricane Teddy to Impact This Province




The remnants of Hurricane Teddy will have an impact on the weather in this province beginning this evening.


There are several alerts in effect for the province.


Rain, gusty to strong winds, and large waves are expected across Newfoundland and parts of Labrador.


The heaviest rain will fall over parts of southwestern Newfoundland. Rainfall amounts in these areas could exceed 50 mm, with isolated areas possibly reaching 75 to 100 mm.


Across southwestern Newfoundland, winds may gust over 100 km/h.


On Wednesday, waves will reach up to 7 metres near the coast. There will also be some storm surge.
