Across Newfoundland today we are looking at a mix of sun and cloud. There is a chance of showers or flurries depending on where you are. High temperatures will range from minus 1 to plus 8.

In Labrador, nice weather is expected but you'll need to bundle up with high temperatures between minus 5 and minus 9.

On Saturday a storm system will push through.

Heavy rain is expected on Saturday across southern and eastern sections of the island. In these areas 50 to 100 mm of rain is possible. Across western Newfoundland and for northern coasts snow is expected. Over higher elevations, some places could see 20 cm of snow. Across central sections of Newfoundland, an area of freezing rain or ice pellets could develop.

Winds across the island will gust between 60 and 80 km/h.
