RCMP executes search warrant in Harbour Main and seizes firearm, drugs and cash
The RCMP has arrested two people after executing a search warrant at a residence in Harbour Main on October 26.
Officers located and seized a loaded handgun, ammunition, prohibited magazines loaded with prohibited ammunition, Oxycodone pills, cash, and two all-terrain vehicles.
The handgun and two ATVs were stolen and the ATVs will be returned to the rightful owners.
Police charged 28-year-old Corey Evans with four counts of careless use of a firearm, three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited or restricted weapon, five counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition without license/registration, four counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, three counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking, and nine counts of failure to comply with release order condition.
Also charged was 30-year-old Kyler Connolly. Connolly is charged with four counts of careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, five counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized, three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited or restricted weapon, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, possession of property obtained by crime, three counts of possession of prohibited weapon, device or ammunition, possession of a weapon obtained by the commission of an offence, four counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and three counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Following their arrests, Evans and Connolly were held in custody. Connolly was released on October 30 and will appear in court at a later date. Evans was held in custody and is set to appear in court again on November 22.
The investigation is continuing.
