Rain and snow expected across the Island today
An area of low pressure moved across the Great Northern Peninsula last night and brought a few centimetres of snow to the west coast.
Today that low will cause unsettled weather across the remainder of the province.
Central sections of the island will get about 2 to 4 cm of snow today. On the south coast, rain will change to snow this afternoon with 2 to 4 mm of rain expected and 2 to 4 cm of snow this afternoon into the evening.
The Avalon will see rain this morning and there will be a few hours of rain this afternoon before a transition to snow is expected. About 5 mm of rain is expected. This evening and overnight, 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected.
