The provincial government announced $71,000 in funding to support regional organizations providing visitor information services throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation Minister Andrea Barbour said the funding would help organizations that connect travellers with local attractions, accommodations, experiences and tourism operators, encouraging visitors to explore communities across the province while supporting tourism activity in rural areas.

The investment supports regional visitor information services that complement the province's network of Provincial Visitor Information Centres. The government said the funding is intended to enhance the visitor experience by ensuring both residents and tourists have access to information about destinations, attractions and services across Newfoundland and Labrador.
