Province seeks design consultant for Pasadena Elementary expansion

The Newfoundland and Labrador government has issued a request for proposals for design consulting services for the planned expansion and renovation of Pasadena Elementary School.
The successful consultant will provide design and related professional services for the project, which is intended to increase the school’s capacity and better accommodate students, staff and families in the Pasadena area.
Plans call for four additional classrooms, a new kitchen and lunchroom, and accessible washrooms. Space for a pre-kindergarten program will also be included in the design.
Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Barry Petten said planning for the expansion is an important step toward providing students and educators with modern learning spaces.
“Quality school infrastructure plays a critical role in student learning and success,” Petten said.
“By advancing planning for the expansion of Pasadena Elementary School, we are helping ensure students and educators have access to safe, modern and supportive learning environments that meet their needs today and into the future.”
The province said the project is part of its broader investment in school infrastructure and is intended to respond to changing enrolment and community needs.
