Province Declares Regional State of Emergency for the Bay de Verde Peninsula

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has issued a Regional State of Emergency for the Bay de Verde Peninsula.

Earlier this afternoon, an evacuation order was issued for Burnt Point-Gull Island-Northern Bay.

Everyone on the Bay de Verde Peninsula should be prepared to evacuate. Do not evacuate unless you are told to.

Ground crews have been removed for safety reasons.

There is a new fire on Gull Island in Labrador. A helicopter is on route.
