Plant-based cheddar corn puffs recalled over undeclared milk

Several plant-based snack products sold under the PC Organics and Frankie's Organic brands have been recalled across Canada because they contain milk that was not declared on the label.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued the Class 1 food recall on Aug. 8. The recall affects several varieties of plant-based cheddar corn puffs and crunchies.
The affected products are:
PC Organics Plant-Based Cheddar baked corn puffs, 142 g — UPC 060383020767; codes 2027 FE 15, 2027 FE 16 and 2027 AL 03.
PC Organics Plant-Based Cheddar baked corn puffs, 336 g — UPC 060383020774; codes 2027 FE 16 and 2027 AL 03.
PC Organics Plant-Based Cheddar Jalapeno baked corn puffs, 142 g — UPC 060383020798; code 2027 FE 16.
PC Organics Plant-Based Cheddar baked corn crunchies, 142 g — UPC 060383096168; codes 2027 FE 15 and 2027 MR 26.
Frankie's Organic Plant-Based Puffs Vegan Cheddar, 113 g — UPC 816929000089; codes 2027 MA 16 and 2027 JL 03.
The CFIA said the products are being removed from the marketplace because milk is present but was not declared on the label.
People with a milk allergy or sensitivity are being advised not to consume the affected products, as they could cause a serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. Consumers should throw the products out or return them to the place of purchase.
The CFIA said there have been reported reactions associated with consumption of the recalled products.
The agency is conducting a food safety investigation and is verifying that the affected products are being removed from stores and other points of sale. The investigation could result in additional products being recalled.
