A 37-year-old Placentia man is facing impaired driving charges after being arrested by Placentia RCMP on Boxing Day.
Police say they responded at approximately 6:48 p.m. on December 26, 2025, after a concerned passerby reported seeing a man who appeared to be unconscious or in distress behind the wheel of an SUV on Route 91 near Placentia.
Officers arrived on scene and observed signs that the driver was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Placentia RCMP detachment, where he provided breath samples measuring more than four times the legal limit.
The vehicle was seized and impounded. The man was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in provincial court on February 26, 2026, to answer to a charge of impaired driving.
