Woman arrested following alleged assault and theft investigation

The RNC arrested a 23-year-old woman Saturday afternoon in connection with an earlier investigation involving an assault and attempted theft at a local business.

Officers were conducting patrols in the area of Livingstone Street around 3:50 p.m. on September 19 when they observed the woman exiting a vehicle.

According to police, the woman was wanted in connection with an investigation dating back to September 9, when she allegedly assaulted a security guard while attempting to steal merchandise from a local business.

The woman was arrested and charged with robbery with violence, mischief causing property damage and two counts of breaching a release order.

She was held for court in the morning.
