Emergency services were called to the intersection of Mundy Pond Road and Columbus Drive at 4:20 p.m. on Monday for reports of a collision.

Firefighters arrived to one vehicle on its side and another car that had travelled down a slope and then collided into a nearby home. The driver of one car was treated on scene and assisted up a slope where they were placed on a stretcher and taken to hospital aboard an ambulance a short time later with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Officers from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s collision Reconstructionist team attended the scene and conducted an investigation into the collision.

It is unknown if the driver of the other vehicle was injured as a result of the collision.

Traffic travelling on Columbus Drive wanting to turn onto Mundy Pond Road was detoured around the collision onto other nearby roads as police investigated the collision.
