ParksNL is reporting record-breaking demand ahead of the 2026 provincial park season, following a year that saw the highest visitation and revenue levels in its history.
Newfoundland and Labrador’s 32 provincial parks — including 13 camping parks, seven day-use parks, 10 park reserves, one waterway park and the T’Railway Provincial Park — attracted more than 240,000 visitors in 2025. The parks system also generated more than $1.6 million in revenue, the highest total on record.
Overnight use remained strong, with approximately 70,000 overnight stays recorded across the province’s parks last year.
Demand for the upcoming season is already outpacing previous years. ParksNL opened reservations for 2026 last week and recorded its busiest launch day to date, receiving more than 6,000 bookings. That figure marks a 19 per cent increase compared with the first day of reservations in 2025.
Bookings have continued to climb since the system opened, signalling another strong season ahead.
