Officer injured after arrest in downtown St. John's
At 8:30 pm Sunday evening the RNC was called to a report of an unwelcome person at a public venue in the downtown area of St. John's.
The 40-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
When officers placed the individual under arrest, the subject resisted and an officer sustained a personal injury. The male was charged with assaulting a police officer causing bodily harm, resisting arrest and breach of probation.
The officer received medical treatment.
The male was held to appear in Court.
