Neighbourhood Connect event planned for Martin’s Meadow Park

Families and neighbours will have an opportunity to get outdoors and connect with others at an upcoming Neighbourhood Connect event in St. John’s.

The free community event will take place Thursday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon at Martin’s Meadow Park at 79 Cabot Street.

The City of St. John’s said the initiative is focused on building stronger community connections and creating healthier, more connected neighbourhoods.

The outdoor play session will feature human-sized games, recreation equipment for all ages, the Newfoundland and Labrador Public Libraries’ Library on the Go and a baby-friendly space.

Residents are encouraged to dress for the weather, bring sun protection and pack a water bottle.

The accessible entrance to Martin’s Meadow Park is located off Cabot Street.

People who require adaptive equipment to participate can contact the City at inclusion@stjohns.ca. The City’s Adaptive Equipment Lending Program is also available to provide additional supports to residents who may benefit from them.

The Neighbourhood Connect program offers free community activities designed to bring residents together in neighbourhood spaces throughout the city.
