Mixed precipitation impacting eastern Newfoundland

Eastern Newfoundland has a variety of precipitation expected today.

For Gander, Bonavista North, Terra Nova, and Clarenville an additional 5 to 15 cm is expected by this afternoon.

Heavier snow is expected for the Avalon Peninsula North and the Bonavista Peninsula. In these areas, snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.

Freezing rain is occurring across parts of the Avalon Peninsula, the freezing rain will end later this morning or the afternoon depending on the location. As temperatures turn colder, the freezing rain will transition from ice pellets to snow. 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected in St. John's this afternoon.

Across the southeastern Avalon Peninsula, 10 mm of rain is expected this morning.
