Mild weekend ahead across Newfoundland and Labrador with mix of sun and showers

A generally mild but unsettled weekend is expected across Newfoundland and Labrador, with a mix of sunshine, cloud and scattered showers depending on the region.
In western areas of the island, conditions will remain damp through the weekend. Some showers are possible Saturday with a high near 9°C, followed by continued cloudy skies and a chance of showers Sunday with temperatures reaching around 11°C.
Central Newfoundland will see similar conditions to start the weekend, with a chance of showers on Saturday and a high near 13°C. Skies are expected to improve on Sunday, bringing more sunshine and a warmer high of 16°C.
On the Avalon Peninsula, some showers are possible on Saturday with temperatures around 13°C. Conditions turn drier Sunday, though skies will remain partly cloudy with highs holding steady near 13°C.
Labrador will see more variation between regions. Western Labrador will be cooler, with a mix of sun and cloud Saturday and a high near 7°C, warming to around 10°C Sunday under mainly cloudy skies. Coastal Labrador will enjoy brighter conditions, with a mix of sun and cloud on Saturday and a high near 11°C, followed by mainly sunny skies on Sunday and a warmer high of 15°C.
Overall, temperatures across the province will trend mild for this time of year, with improving conditions in many areas by Sunday.
