A 21-year-old man is facing additional charges following a fatal collision in St. John’s earlier this year.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says Koushik Ghosh was charged with additional offences on August 28 after laboratory test results were received.

The charges include two counts of operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs causing bodily harm and one count of operating a vehicle while impaired by drugs causing death.

The charges stem from a single-vehicle collision on June 12 near the intersection of Mayor Avenue and Newtown Road.

Police say a 24-year-old passenger died from his injuries, while two other passengers were injured.

Ghosh was initially charged with impaired driving offences, including impaired operation causing death, following an investigation by the RNC’s Accident Investigation Section.

He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
