Man Charged After Armed Robbery in Mount Pearl

A 37-year-old man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery in Mount Pearl on Monday night.

The RNC responded to a report of a robbery on Commonwealth Avenue at approximately 9:34 p.m. on Aug. 3.

Police said the victim reported being robbed by a suspect armed with an edged weapon before the suspect fled the area on foot.

A short time later, an officer located a man matching the suspect's description walking along a nearby trail system. Following an investigation, the 37-year-old suspect was arrested and taken to the St. John's lockup.

He has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
