Man arrested following assault at Mary Browns Centre

At 6:34 p.m. on Saturday evening, the RNC operational patrol services responded to a report of an assault at the Mary Browns Centre in downtown St. John’s.

Witnesses advised police that a male had assaulted another male during the event. Police located and arrested a 27-year-old male, charging him with; assault with a weapon, two counts of assault, assault of a peace officer, causing a disturbance and breach of a release order.

The accused was held for court in the morning.

Injuries sustained during the incident were minor in nature.
