Man arrested after police stop stolen vehicle in St. John’s

A 30-year-old man is facing multiple charges after police stopped a vehicle in central St. John’s Tuesday night.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary conducted a traffic stop at about 10:05 p.m. on September 15.
During the investigation, officers were notified that the vehicle had recently been reported stolen and that the driver was also the subject of an outstanding warrant.
The man was arrested and taken to the St. John’s City Lock-Up to await a court appearance Wednesday morning.
He is charged with driving while prohibited, theft of a motor vehicle and failing to appear.
