Man arrested after break and enter and providing false name to police in St. John's

A 34-year-old man was arrested Tuesday evening after police responded to a reported break and enter in progress in the west end of St. John's.

Officers were called to the scene at approximately 5:08 p.m. on July 28.

When officers arrived, they located a suspect who provided police with a false identity. Police said the man was identified through previous interactions and was found to be the subject of several outstanding arrest warrants.

The man was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a concealed weapon, mischief, and multiple breaches of court orders.

He was taken to the St. John's city lockup, where he was held to appear in court on the new charges as well as the outstanding warrants.
