Man arrested after assaulting several people at St. Clare’s Hospital

A 31-year-old man is facing multiple charges following an assault at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in St. John’s.

The RNC responded to the hospital on Lemarchant Road shortly after 1:20 p.m. Monday following a report of an assault in progress.

Police say hospital security witnessed a man assaulting several people and identified the suspect to officers.

The man was arrested without incident.

He is charged with two counts of assault, causing a disturbance, breach of a release order and resisting arrest.

The accused was held for court.
