A dramatic military escalation unfolded today as coordinated strikes targeted multiple sites inside Iran, marking one of the most serious confrontations in the region in years.

Explosions were reported in and around Tehran shortly before dawn, with residents describing loud blasts and flashes lighting up the skyline. Iranian state media confirmed impacts on what it called “strategic military infrastructure,” while insisting the country’s leadership remains in control.

Officials in Israel and the United States have not released full operational details but described the action as a “targeted defensive measure” in response to escalating security threats. Sources indicate the strikes focused on military facilities and command centres believed to be linked to regional proxy operations.

Iranian authorities reported casualties, though exact figures remain unclear. Emergency crews were deployed across several provinces, and air defence systems were activated throughout the capital region.

Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has not appeared publicly, but a senior government spokesperson stated that “the Islamic Republic stands firm and will respond at a time and place of its choosing.”
