Heavy rain and thunderstorms expected across most of Newfoundland

There is a special weather statement in effect for most of the Island portion of the province.

There is an area of low pressure currently over Maine and New Brunswick. That low will being heavy rain to parts of the province today.

Rain will continue overnight and continue through tomorrow morning. Rainfall amounts of 50 mm is possible.

As the low moves through it will also bring this risk of thunderstorms.
