Governor General to visit Newfoundland and Labrador

Governor General Louise Arbour will undertake an official visit to Newfoundland and Labrador from September 8 to 12.

This visit is the first official visit from Arbour within Canada as Governor General.

The Governor General will participate in the Town of Gander’s 25th Anniversary of 9/11 Commemorative Service and engage with members of the Canadian Armed Forces at 9 Wing Gander in her capacity as Commander-in-Chief of Canada.

During the visit, Arbour will also meet with provincial officials, including the Lieutenant Governor, Premier Tony Wakeham and Indigenous leaders.
