Minister of Jobs, Immigration and Growth Gerry Byrne has announced more than $750,000 to establish a West Coast hub dedicated to supporting the integration of Ukrainians in the region.

The new hub will provide integrated, bilingual services focused on cultural preservation, employment and entrepreneurship in western Newfoundland. It will feature gathering and childcare spaces, an office to support case management and integration services, and serve as the home of Ridna Shkola, a Ukrainian bilingual school offering youth programming, cultural events, and seasonal outdoor activities.

Funding for the employment-related aspects of this project is provided through the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Market Development Agreement.
