Gasoline prices increase while diesel and heating fuels decline

Gasoline prices increased across Newfoundland and Labrador while the maximum prices for diesel and heating fuels decreased following the latest fuel price adjustment.

Gasoline increased by up to 1.3 cents per litre.

On the Island, diesel prices decreased by up to 0.1 cents per litre, while diesel in western Labrador decreased by 0.3 cents per litre.

Furnace oil heating fuel on the Island decreased by 0.03 cents per litre. Stove oil in western Labrador saw a larger decrease of 0.39 cents per litre.

The price changes were based on market data available as of the close of business on Aug. 7 and did not reflect more recent market activity.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities is scheduled to make its next fuel price adjustment on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
