Gasoline Prices Drop Slightly as Diesel and Heating Fuels Increase

The Public Utilities Board reduced the maximum price of all grades of gasoline by up to 0.8 cents per litre.
Meanwhile, diesel prices on the Island increased by up to 0.7 cents per litre, while diesel prices in western Labrador rose by 0.8 cents per litre.
Home heating fuel prices also increased. Furnace oil on the Island rose by 0.52 cents per litre, while stove oil in western Labrador increased by 0.74 cents per litre.
Propane was the only other fuel to see a decrease, with prices falling by up to 0.4 cents per litre.
The Public Utilities Board said the adjustments were based on the most recently available average market data as of the close of business on Aug. 5 and did not reflect more recent market activity.
The board said its next regularly scheduled fuel price adjustment is set for Saturday, Aug. 8.
