Kingston

The Kingston Wildfire is still active but has experienced no growth. Recent weather conditions have supported suppression efforts and reduced fire behaviour.

There will be a full aerial attack thanks to clear skies. Eight water bombers will work the north and western edges, moving towards the southern boundary. Five heavy capacity helicopters will work a series of steady missions to priority areas as directed by the Incident Management Team.

Ground crews from this province and Ontario are actioning to the north and south boundaries of the wildfire again today. The Canadian Armed Forces continue digging into hot spots, and local fire departments are working on structure protection.

It is anticipated that it will be a strong day of fire suppression efforts. A helicopter is currently flying the perimeter to get a more accurate update onthe size.

Paddy’s Pond

The Paddy’s Pond wildfire continues to be classified as “Being Held”.  Ground crews will be in the area today actioning any remaining hot spots.

Martin Lake

The wildfire in Martin Lake is “Being Held” and hot spots will continue to be actioned throughout the day by ground crews.

“Being Held” means with the current committed resources and based on prevailing and forecasted conditions, sufficient action has been taken to prevent fire spread beyond existing or predetermined boundaries.
