Fuel prices rise across Newfoundland and Labrador, propane sees small drop

Motorists and homeowners across Newfoundland and Labrador saw increases to most fuel prices following an adjustment to maximum fuel rates.
All types of gasoline motor fuel rose by up to 4.8 cents per litre, while diesel motor fuel on the Island increased by up to 4.1 cents per litre. Diesel prices in Labrador’s Zones 13 and 13a also increased by 4.1 cents per litre.
Heating fuels were also affected. Furnace oil on the Island increased by 3.52 cents per litre, and stove oil heating fuel in Labrador’s Zones 13 and 13a rose by 3.56 cents per litre.
In contrast, propane heating fuel decreased by up to 0.5 cents per litre.
The Board’s next regularly scheduled fuel price adjustment was set for Friday, Jan. 23, 2026.
