Fuel Prices Increase for Gasoline, Diesel and Heating Oil

Maximum fuel prices increased across Newfoundland and Labrador, with gasoline, diesel and heating fuels all seeing higher prices.

All types of gasoline motor fuel increased by up to 0.8 cents per litre.

Diesel prices increased by up to 2.1 cents per litre on the Island and by 2.2 cents per litre in western Labrador.

Furnace oil on the Island increased by 1.79 cents per litre, while stove oil in western Labrador increased by 1.93 cents per litre.

Propane heating fuel was the only fuel to see a decrease, falling by 1.3 cents per litre.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities said the changes were based on the most recently available average market data as of the close of business on Aug. 12 and did not reflect more recent market activity.

The board's next scheduled fuel price adjustment was set for Saturday, Aug. 15.
