The price of gas decreased by 6.5 cents per litre, while diesel prices on the Island fell by up to 9.8 cents per litre. Diesel prices in western Labrador dropped by 9.9 cents per litre.

Home heating fuels also saw price reductions. Furnace oil on the Island decreased by 8.46 cents per litre, while stove oil in western Labrador fell by 8.64 cents per litre.

The Public Utilities Board said the adjustments were based on the most recent market data available as of the close of business on Aug. 3, noting the changes did not reflect more recent market activity.

The Board said its next regularly scheduled fuel price adjustment was set for Thursday, Aug. 6.
