Fire risk high to extreme across most of Newfoundland

As most of the province basks in warm dry weather, the forest fire risk is increasing.


The forest fire risk for most of the south coast, Avalon, and parts of central is between high, very high, and extreme.


The risk is low for Labrador and most of the Northern Peninsula.


There have recently been several wildfires in the province. There have been 43 fires in the province so far this year.
