Fire protection funding announcement planned for South River

The provincial government will announce funding for fire protection vehicles and equipment in South River today.

Forestry, Agriculture and Lands Minister Pleaman Forsey is scheduled to make the announcement alongside Justice and Public Safety Minister and Harbour Main MHA Helen Conway Ottenheimer.

The announcement is set for 11 a.m. at the Bay de Grave Volunteer Fire Department at 1 Conception Bay Highway in South River.

The funding is expected to support fire protection services in the area through new or upgraded vehicles and equipment.
