Fire ban will be lifted at midnight tonight

The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture has announced that the fire ban will be lifted at midnight tonight.

There are still multiple fires burning in central including the Paradise Lake, Triton Brook, Bay d’Espoir Highway, and Southern Lake fires.

The Paradise Lake fire remains out of control while the Bay d’Espoir Highway fire and Southern Lake Access Road are 20 percent contained.

The public is advised to follow the regulations for fires.

Some municipalities also have fire bans in place.
