Labrador Affairs Minister Lela Evans is scheduled to attend a Hope Air community event in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Monday celebrating the organization's 40th anniversary.

Evans, who also serves as minister of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation and Health and Community Services, will take part in the Give Hope Wings event at 5 Wing Goose Bay.

The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., with Evans expected to deliver remarks at noon.

Lake Melville MHA Keith Russell is also scheduled to attend.

Give Hope Wings is an annual volunteer-led flight expedition and fundraiser organized by Hope Air, a national charity that provides free flights, accommodations and other travel support to low-income families who need to travel away from their home communities for medical care.

The event is being held as Hope Air marks four decades of providing travel assistance to Canadians requiring access to health care.
