Emergency services were kept busy on Saturday, responding to multiple collisions throughout the metro area.


Personnel from the St. John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD), Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and NL Health Services (NLHS) were all engaged this past Saturday, attending to several collisions.


The first reported collision occurred shortly after 12:00 p.m. on the Trans-Canada Highway near Foxtrap Access Road, and reports indicate that the incident was of a minor nature.


The second collision was reported shortly after 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Columbus Drive and Old Pennywell Road, involving what is believed to be two vehicles. This incident caused minor damage with no injuries reported.


The third collision took place shortly after 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Old Placentia Road and Commonwealth Avenue, where three vehicles collided. This resulted in significant damage to two of the vehicles and moderate damage to one pickup truck. SJRFD firefighters had to use extrication tools to gain access to one vehicle in order to rescue an individual. A total of four individuals were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.


The fourth collision was reported shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Kenmount Road in front of Wing n' It, but before emergency crews could arrive, the vehicles involved moved into a nearby parking lot. One SUV sustained minor front-end damage, and there were no reported injuries.


The fifth collision was reported shortly before 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of the Trans Canada Highway and Foxtrap Access Road on ramp for eastbound towards St John's. Reports indicate, it was a single-vehicle accident, unknown if there were any injuries.


The sixth reported collision, was shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Topsail Road between Elizabeth Drive and Carlisle Drive in Paradise, which involved two-vehicle, both had moderate damage. Two individuals were brought to a nearby ambulance to be assessed by paramedics but it's unclear if they were transported to hospital.


The seventh reported collision, was shortly before 9:00 p.m. on Adam's Avenue between Freshwater Road and Pennywell Road, which involved a two-vehicle rear-end collision that sent one person to hospital. Both vehicles had moderate-significant damage.


None of these collisions were reported be serious nature but please remind yourself to slow down and use caution when getting from Point A to Point B.
