Eight recipients to receive Order of Newfoundland and Labrador


Eight Newfoundlanders and Labradorians will be formally invested into the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador today.
The investiture ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. at Government House in St. John’s, with Lieutenant Governor Joan Marie Aylward and Deputy Premier Barry Petten attending.
This year’s recipients are Ann Bell, Garrett F. Browne, Evangeline Mae Drudge, Kathleen L. Knowling, Randy Murphy, Dr. A. Marion Pardy, Ronald G. Penney and Winston M.K. Perry.
The ceremony begins at 2 p.m., with recipients and guests scheduled to arrive between 1:30 and 1:45 p.m.
The Order of Newfoundland and Labrador is the province’s highest honour, recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the province and its people.
