Dominion store closing in St. John's

A staple in the downtown area of St. John's is closing down.

Dominion, located at 20 Lake Avenue, will close on May 8. The store is located in the former Memorial Stadium on the shore of Quidi Vidi Lake.

The store opened in 2007.

Unifor represents employees impacted, and Unifor Local 597 President Carolyn Wrice said, “Unifor will work closely with the employer to ensure every provision of the agreement is fully upheld.”

Dominion Stores is the primary brand name of the major-market supermarkets of Loblaw Companies Limited in the province. There are 11 stores in the province.
