The Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture is continuing to work a wildfire near Kingston this morning.
The communities of Kingston, Small Point, Broad Cove and Adam’s Cove are under an Evacuation Alert.
This morning, water bombers, helicopters and ground crews are actioning the fire with support from volunteer fire departments.
The approximate size of the wildfire is currently 150 hectares.
Residents are reminded that the operation of drones in the vicinity of wildfires is illegal. Fines for flying a drone near a wildfire can be up to $15,000. Unauthorized drones ground emergency aircraft like water bombers and rescue helicopters - delaying critical efforts and putting lives at risk.
