Compliments chicken burgers recalled over undeclared egg

A batch of Compliments Smashed 100 per cent Chicken Burgers has been recalled across Canada because the product contains egg that was not declared on the label.


The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the recall affects 680-gram packages containing eight 85-gram burgers.


The affected product has the UPC 0 55742 58333 5 and is marked with the best-before date BB 2027-JA-06 and lot number 00099193.


The recall was issued July 31 and was published by the CFIA on Aug. 6. It is classified as a Class 2 recall.


Consumers are advised not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product.


The recall was initiated by Leadbetter Foods Inc. and applies nationally.


The CFIA said the issue involves an undeclared egg allergen.
