One lane of TCH re-opens near Flat Bay Junction

UPDATE: The Trans-Canada Highway has partially re-opened to alternating traffic.

However, intermittent closures may be required over the next few hours to allow crews to safely complete their work.

Motorists are reminded to anticipate further possible delays and are asked to continue to approach the area with caution and follow all directions from traffic control personnel.

EARLIER: Bay St. George RCMP is responding to a motor vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway, approximately 6 kilometres west of the Flat Bay Junction. At least one lane of the highway will be closed, and a full closure could be possible as crews respond and investigate.

Motorists should expect significant delays traveling through the area. Please slow down and follow all directions from emergency responders.
