It is a stormy morning in parts of central and southern Newfoundland.

Snow moved in last night and is still continuing in some areas.

This morning there are multiple school closures. Roads are mainly snow-covered with some icy patches. Winds are gusty causing reduced visibility.

The snow is expected to end by noon.

At this time there are still snowfall warnings in effect for Bonavista North, Bonavista Peninsula, Clarenville and vicinity, Gander and vicinity, and Terra Nova. There is a wind warning in effect for the Bonavista Peninsula and a special weather statement in effect for Bay of Exploits and Grand Falls-Windsor and vicinity.

This marks the first significant snowfall of the season for the area.
