On Monday, registration will open for the fall 2025 Becoming an Outdoors Woman workshop.
The event this year will run from September 12-14 at Pinchgut Lake near Corner Brook.
The program offers a variety of activities that enhance participants’ outdoor skills and knowledge.
Courses including kayaking, wildlife and plant identification, firearm and archery basics, and outdoor cooking focus on enhancing an appreciation for the stewardship and conservation of Newfoundland and Labrador’s natural, historical and cultural resources.
The program is designed for individuals 18 years and older and strongly promotes an accessible, inclusive and respectful environment for all participants.
To register, email salmoniernaturepark@gov.nl.ca or call 709-229-7888. Registration fees cover meals, accommodations and courses and vary depending on the type of accommodations selected. Indoor accommodations are limited at Pinchgut Lake; however, on-site tenting is available, and the location is a short commute from Corner Brook for participants who choose to stay off site.
