Aquaculture conferences to bring hundreds of delegates to St. John’s

Hundreds of aquaculture industry representatives from Canada and around the world are expected in St. John’s next month for a joint conference and trade show.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Aquaculture Industry Association will host its annual Cold Harvest Conference and Trade Show in partnership with the Aquaculture Association of Canada’s national Aquaculture Canada conference.

The event runs from Sept. 15 to 17 at the Jag Hotel in St. John’s.

Organizers say the conference will bring together leaders from industry, government, academia and technology to discuss innovation and growth in the aquaculture sector.

The three-day event will feature technical sessions, keynote speakers, panel discussions and a trade show representing different parts of the aquaculture supply chain.

NAIA executive director Bradley George said the conference provides an opportunity for the aquaculture community to share ideas, build partnerships and highlight innovation in the sector.

Aquaculture Association of Canada president Cyr Couturier said the organization is pleased to once again co-host the national seafood farming conference in partnership with NAIA.

Delegates are expected from Canada, the United States, Europe, South America and other regions.
