Another unsettled day across Newfoundland


It will be an unsettled day in Newfoundland with rain expected on the south coast and the Avalon Peninsula, a rain/snow mix in central, rain, snow, and freeing rain in the Corner Brook area and snow on the Great Northern Peninsula. Winds will also be strong with gusts between 60 and 120 km/h.


In Labrador, there is a chance of a few flurries for most areas with highs between minus 5 and minus 10.

Snowfall with total amounts of about 15 cm is expected this afternoon and evening.


Wind warning

  • Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity

Maximum gusts: westerly up to 110 km/h late this afternoon until near midnight.


Wreckhouse wind warning

  • Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity

Maximum gusts: southeasterly up to 120 km/h in the Wreckhouse area continuing until near noon.
