Another storm eyes Newfoundland

For Gros Morne and Corner Brook snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are expected. Portions of western, central, and northern Newfoundland will see 10 to 20 cm of snow overnight tonight into Saturday.

Across the west coast winds will gust to 100 km/h except in the Wreckhouse area where gusts to 160 km/h late this evening until Saturday morning.

An extended period of freezing rain is expected over the Avalon Peninsula and the south coast.

Marine Atlantic will depart from Port aux Basques at 10:45 am and will depart North Sydney at 11:00 am this morning. Crossings for tonight are cancelled. The crossings scheduled for Saturday morning may also be impacted.
