Another storm expected


There is a low pressure system currently bringing snow and rain to the Maritimes and the low will push precipitation into Newfoundland later today.


Snow will push across Newfoundland beginning late this afternoon. Snow will continue overnight and change to rain for eastern areas. On Wednesday snow will continue along the west coast. The snow will come to an end on Wednesday night.


The Avalon will see about 5 to 10 cm of snow followed by 15 to 30 mm of rain.


For the Deer Lake - Humber Valley and Green Bay - White Bay 15 cm of snow is on the way. 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected in southwestern Newfoundland.


Along the west coast winds will gust to 120 km/h over exposed areas of the coast. Gusts to 140 km/h are expected in the Wreckhouse area.


Marine Atlantic has cancelled crossings for this morning and anticipates that crossings tonight and tomorrow morning could be impacted.
