72-year-old woman charged after refusing alcohol screening in St. John’s traffic stop

A 72-year-old woman is facing a charge after refusing an alcohol screening during a traffic stop in downtown St. John’s.
The RNC stopped the vehicle in the area of Water Street at about 10:43 p.m. Saturday.
Police say the officer became suspicious that the driver had consumed alcohol and conducted a further investigation.
The woman was arrested and charged with refusal.
She was released with a future court date, and her vehicle was impounded.
