43 year old man arrested following armed robbery at the Village Mall Shopping Center, Friday evening

On December 6th, Shorty before 7:00 p.m. Officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) were called to the Village Mall Shopping Center in the west end of St.

John’s, where a 43 year old male had been seen leaving the business with unpaid merchandise

and holding a weapon. The male was detained by security after a struggle.

On arrival of police, the male was arrested for armed robbery, obstruction, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon and failure to attend court (on other unrelated matters).

The male was held to appear before a Judge.
